So I feel like I need to make an addendum to my last post.

I talked to another fellow in my PM group, and he said that he just did not believe that my student’s intention was sexual because of his age.  And I certainly agree.  I don’t think my student had sexual intentions.  I think he had intentions to either disrespect me with a) what he knew was an inappropriate thing you might say to a woman you don’t respect, or b) what he might have thought was a way to compliment a woman.  

And besides, that’s not what this was all about.  It’s not about sex.  It’s about power.  

Men don’t just catcall, or grope, or do a lot of awful things just because they necessarily sexually desire that woman.  

They do things because they can.

That is what’s wrong.
